About Dr. Lockwood

Lea Lockwood, Ph.D., LICSW (she/her/hers) is a licensed psychologist with dual training as a school psychologist and clinical social worker, and over 20 years of experience in psychology and social work.

 

She holds a Certificate in Neuropsychology from Fielding University and specializes in neuropsychological assessment in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Dr. Lockwood provides comprehensive evaluations for learning disabilities, memory, executive functioning, and social-emotional concerns, including anxiety, OCD, ADHD, ODD, and depression. She has also served as an adjunct professor of psychology at Bryant University.

 

Dr. Lockwood approaches testing as an intervention—using warmth, humor, and clarity to help clients feel comfortable and to create a practical roadmap for growth and learning.​

About Dr. McKenna

Kaitlyn McKenna, Psy.D. (pronouns she/her/hers) is a licensed clinical psychologist who obtained her degree from William James College in 2021.

 

Prior to this she received her master's in couples and family therapy. Previous work includes school-based services, community mental health, and college counseling.

 

Professional interests include psychological assessments, identity development, interpersonal concerns, life transitions, and community outreach work.

 

Dr. McKenna utilizes a client-centered and strength-based approach, with an emphasis on each client’s unique background, values, and culture.

About Ms. Mather

Kim Mather, M.A. Educ., Psychometrist

With more than 40 years of experience working with youth and adolescents, Kim Mather brings deep expertise with warmth, knowledge, and a gentle sense of humor to her work. She has served as a school principal, instructional coach, interventionist, classroom teacher, and special educator. Ms. Mather has completed advanced coursework in reading, science, and mathematics instruction and supervision, equipping her with a strong foundation in effective teaching practices and curriculum design.

 

Since retiring from her principal role, she has continued her lifelong learning as a psychometrist, pursuing additional advanced coursework in autism testing and brain neuroanatomy.

 

In her work with children and adolescents, she transforms patience into guidance, creativity into inspiration, and laughter into the spark that makes self-discovery irresistible.

In addition to her part-time work in psychological testing, Mrs. Mather is a published children’s author (The School of a Million Hugs, and co-directs theater productions with GEAR Productions (Give Everyone a Role), an inclusive community theater program that celebrates neurodiversity.

About Dr. Kaufman

Laurie Kaufman, Ph.D. (pronouns she/her/hers) is a licensed clinical psychologist, certified high school teacher, certified mindfulness educator, and mom. She has been counseling, teaching, and evaluating children, adolescents, and adults for over twenty-five years.

 

Dr. Kaufman provides comprehensive evaluations for learning differences and social-emotional functioning. Clinically, she specializes in cognitive-behavioral and mind-body approaches for anxiety, depression, stress management, parenting, and social and academic success. Dr. Kaufman is also a part-time faculty member at the University of Rhode Island.

About Ms. Doyle

Kathleen Doyle, RN, MSN, PCNS-BC
Lt Col, USAF (Retired)

Kathy is an experienced psychopharmacology prescriber and adjunct Clinical Nursing Professor at the University of Rhode Island, with extensive expertise in medication management and the care of young adults.

 

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salve Regina University and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at University of Rhode Island.

 

Kathy is committed to helping individuals recognize and build upon their strengths as they work toward improved health and wellness. She offers a holistic, integrative approach to mental health that emphasizes healthy lifestyle choices, collaborative goal-setting, and effective psychiatric medication management. Her practice incorporates education, mindfulness, and behavioral strategies within a psychodynamic framework.

Alicia Barriera, B.A. plays an integral role in supporting the staff across all levels of the practice, managing scheduling, billing, and a wide range of organizational needs with precision and care.

 

Alicia’s tireless dedication keeps daily operations running smoothly, and her warm professionalism consistently earns praise from clients, who value her responsiveness and genuine commitment to excellent service.
